Abstract
BlazeSports For All Youth Adaptive Sports Initiative is a multi-pronged initiative for children and youth with a SCI which aims to improve physical fitness, independence and leadership skills of children and youth with SCI. The initiative includes weekly adaptive sport programs (wheelchair basketball, track & field, swimming, wheelchair tennis and adaptive climbing), quarterly BlazeDays in the School/Community as well as BlazeSports All-Star Summer Camp. The Summer Camp is also an opportunity to employ 4-5 past campers/current BlazeSports athletes with a disability as camp counselor or counselors in training to gain employment experience.
